My grandmother has lived in her house for the last 40 years. While she is still sharp as ever, she has lost a little of her mobility. Recently she started having some minor respiratory issues. We weren’t sure what was causing it, but it seemed worse at home. We looked into it and realized that she had a serious mold problem in her basement. Apparently, as she was less sure on her feet, she stopped going into the basement but refused to tell anyone. She was proud I guess. Unfortunately the basement was damp, and without a dehumidifier, it got even more damp which is what led to the problem. Well we contacted a cleanup company (http://www.actremediation.com) which specializes in mold cleanup and other similar types of cleanup. Mold cleanup can be a tricky business and you want to be sure it is done right. They came in, assessed the damage, told us what would need to be done and how much it would cost. Once we gave them the go ahead, they took care of everything from the cleaning to the removal of contaminated materials. They performed the mold cleanup efficiently and with a minimum of disruption to my grandmothers life. Today she is doing better, her respiratory issues have cleared up and one of us comes over every couple weeks to make sure the dehumidifier is working and the basement stays moisture free.
